Otter Controls was founded by the inventor Eric H Taylor of ‘snap-action’ thermostats to prevent over heating in the RAF airman flying suits worn in the second world war.
The Hardwick Square site in Buxton became home for the manufacture of his innovative thermostats for domestic appliances and for the automotive industry since 1946.
Otter Controls to this day continues as a leading specialist engineer and manufacturing company, leaving the former site for new premises made this ideal location available for prestigious residential development.
